We are currently recruiting applicants for two positions starting in late summer/fallThese are exciting opportunities to get in on the ground level of a new and growing business and we are looking for applicants who are genuinely excited about the possibility of working with us in our small and unique team.

Part Time Pastry Cook

We are looking for a person passionate about pastry who can ideally take over production of our line of Petits Gateaux.  Currently this is probably only about 1-2 days a week but includes the opportunity to learn and for the position to grow as our new business grows.  Some of the related areas we are looking to grow in would be expanding the Petits Gateaux offerings and also starting a line of entremets and entremet style wedding cakes.  You must be a hard worker and understanding of the changing and somewhat unpredictable nature of working in a small business.  This position is perfect for someone with current employment who is looking to augment that with additional hours and/or in order to learn and practice new skills.  There is also opportunity for creative input for future desserts and holiday specials.  For the right person his position could become a full-time position within a year and ideally that is what we are hoping for.

Requirements:

  • Some experience working in pastry and/or pastry school
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain information
  • Willingness to be flexible in job duties and help out wherever necessary
  • Ability to manage stock to ensure that we do not run out

Compensation Depends on Experience and Responsibilities

A Stage/Try Out will be required

Start Date is flexible but no later than Mid-September

Front of House Assistant/Barista – Seasonal Part Time

This position is for a customer service associate and barista.  You will assist customers with choosing and packing chocolate boxes and desserts, make any espresso and tea beverages, and complete sales transactions.  Additional front of house duties will keep you busy including packing large orders, routine cleaning and table bussing, packaging retail items, building chocolate boxes, packaging shipping orders, helping with dishes etc.  Ideally you are also passionate about pastry and chocolate

Requirements:

  • Cash Management Skills – you will be responsible for the cash drawer while you are here
  • Willingness to be flexible in job duties and help out wherever necessary
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain information
  • Willingness and ability to work on weekends
  • Ability to work throughout the holiday season

This is an hourly part time position with tips

Estimated 15-20 hours/week at least through holiday season

Start Date flexible but no later than mid-October
